Autumn Windfall

I recently enjoyed a weekend with friends in the Catskills. The property is studded with apple trees. So the ground was littered with an over abundance of “Northern Spy” apples.

We noticed how the play of light and shadow in the trees gave the apples a “gem” like appearance.

So I wanted to make a painting. This watercolor  is my interpretation.

We  had a birthday to celebrate…..

This was the OTHER by-product. Unfortunately no candles!
….so this impromptu freeform “tart”was the OTHER by-product of our windfall.Unfortunately no birthday candles!

Till next time,Bill
