Familiar Comforts

Getting out of town always brings about a shift in focus for me. We were blessed with pleasant weather and a bright blue sky as the backdrop for the brilliant autumn foliage on a visit to upstate New York. I was reminded how much I have always loved autumn in the northeast. For me this shift into fall signifies new starts, new runway collections, new films, new exhibits, new stage productions. This change also brings on an introspective mood, a desire for nesting, warmth, slow cooking, coziness, and the comfort of the familiar.

This is reflected in some of my recent work. In the design world there is nothing new about the classic floral “tree of life”. But it seems right for now. Here are my recent variations on the theme.
