Beauty Is Where You Find It

Sometimes I am asked where ideas come from. Of course ideas are everywhere. It’s just a matter of what we perceive.My local subway station has some worn out boards with remnants of old disintegrated posters and glue and all manner of underground city grime one would be well advised to avoid pondering too deeply.  But I could not help noticing the “pattern” in the erosion.

So I decided to make a repeating abstract design

So I chose to “tart  it up” a bit by adding some architectural scroll work and some brighter colors.
